Yuck... !!! Sure... we all need a Sheriff that is 200 lbs overweight! The only thing moving on this turkey is his mouth. What a disgrace!! How can anyone in the Sheriff's department have any respect for a boss that cannot even pass an officer physical? Can he even touch his toes with that beer belly in front of him? My image of a Sheriff is someone I can respect... and it is not Vinny !

On Manna Christian, second Bonita mobile home park evacuated after flooding

This mobile home park is an accident and LAWSUIT waiting to happen! I don't understand how local government can get away with doing nothing.
"Creative wiring"... and all those children living there in substandard conditions. This recent article of July 26th describes code violations and no one is doing anything about it.
Everybody there claims they are happy per the article... but what happens when a resident is injured or electrocuted with all this "creative wiring" holding the trailers together?
Flood water and "creative wiring" on metal trailers do not mix! What a shame!! Here is a link to the article...
http://www.naplesdailynews.com/news/2...
"... Nestled on the east side of town on Bonita Beach Road, the mobile homes are so close, they’re practically on top of each other.
More than half of them are older, and a good portion of those are rundown. The electrical wiring can get creative, such as a bunch of strung-together power cords swinging in the breeze. And the vegetation springs up haphazardly between the homes...."
".....This way of life is preserved by Lee County’s lax enforcement of various building, electrical and housing codes.
Lee County commissioners decided it’s better to have a quality of life substandard to what is mandated on the rest of the county rather than force costly improvements on Manna Christian and possibly price people out of their homes...."
With great reservation, the county has to tread softly when it comes to enforcing any violation out there,” Commissioner Ray Judah said. “It would have resulted with the residents being forced out into the surrounding woods because there wouldn’t be any other place for them to go.... ”

If your COMCAST TV is still out, then you need to call them to get a signal.
My TV was out until a few minutes ago... black screen. The 3rd time I called them, the tech had me unplug the box and pull the cord on the cable IN... wait 45 seconds and then plug back in. Then the Comcast tech sends a signal and I had to wait several minutes for it to run a cycle.
After the cycle ran... the correct time was showing on the box but not the little circle that is suppose to be on showing the box is on too. So he had me press the power button on the box and the TV started working. I guess Comcast has some bugs if a service call is required to get service running again after a power outage! And how come the first two techs I spoke to did not have me do the signal thing??

Off of Oakes Blvd in the Estates. Maybe I should switch to Satellite TV?? Comcast TV down as usual! Comcast internet is working. Power was flickering but is on steady for last couple of hours.
There is LOTS OF STANDING WATER in the Estates!! Are the drainage gates open in the canals to drain us off??? Or is that a stupid question?? HELLO... ARE YOU THERE? Are the gates open??

Where are the guys that opens the water drainage??
OPEN THE GATES to drain off the water!!! We have tons of standing water in the estates... and still more rain coming in. I will need a boat to get to the road.

"....the vehicle crashed into a ditch near the intersection of Vanderbilt Beach and Livingston roads. ...... "
GOOD they got these guys... but BAD about a high speed "pursuit" on this road as that is right near where I frequently drive. I am out and about driving at that very intersection!! Vanderbilt... from Airport to Interstate 75... is slow going some days with all the never-ending road construction. There is a grade school at Interstate 75 and Vanderbilt too... where kids play ball in the field and parents are in and out for school registration this time of year.
We all pull over for red lights and sirens... but it sounds like this happened quickly with not much time for other drivers to get out of the way. Also there is NOT much room to move to the side of the road... with all the road construction on Vanderbilt approaching Livingston.
We had several break-ins in recent weeks off of Oakes Blvd and Vanderbilt... which is near Interstate 75... so are these the same guys? There was entry through broken glass and the usual was taken while the homeowner was at work.
How about using a chopper to track a suspect in a car from the air? Don't we have police helicopters to chase down bad guys in cars... with less risk to other drivers on the road? ... just a question.

The family and Plancher knew there was a medical problem... yet they rolled the dice and he continued to play. It was the family's choice that Plancher remain playing in sports. Money down-the-road in their pockets appeared to be the motivator of the parents... instead of the long term welfare of the boy.
Now "money up-the-road" appears to be the motivator of the parents as they look to place blame on the school for their own bad decisions.
This is all about MONEY and not what was best for the boy. The parents had the chance to help their son find new direction in life after the illness was discovered... but what did they do? They encouraged their son to play a sport which they knew could kill him in the end.
If the school had not let him play, then the parents would have sued the school for discrimination... go figure

The first time I saw "Vinny", he was standing in front of the outside door at Publix Market... holding a campaign advertising sign. He was dressed like he just came in from the beach and needed a little grooming. I thought it was a joke as he rattled off a memorized script while trying to pass out cards. :)
Publix lets him campaign at their door...? go figure...
