i've lived through 6 or 7 of these now in the years i've lived here. Regardless of whether this is a Cat 1 or 2 hurricane when it gets here, if its a hurricane the smart ppl will prepare b/c even a storm of that strength can do some serious damage if ur not ready for it...
That all being said-where/when are the hurricane parties^_^

Gee, it only took them 2 years to recognize that the rapid rise in oil and other commodities related to energy has caused inflation-which was out of control for about 6 months and, along w/the the mortgage crises, is what is behind the economy being 'recessed'....

ty for the link Bull...There is a HUGE difference in these articles-the NDN one is pathetic and lacks facts. The News-Press story was updated twice and describes her injuries. Based on those descriptions this was probably a hit and run.
It's pretty obvious that the News-Press sent someone out to the scene straight away, where as the NDN sent someone from their Bonita office out in the middle of the afternoon.

Though i'm for the legalization of Marijuana, i'm not for these grow houses all over the place...It's one thing to grow your own for yourself, but these operations are nothing but havens for criminal illegal aliens...
That all being said, the CCSO would be better served spending our tax dollars "weeding" out all the illegals around here.

Americanpie, in saying you dont mind who you hire so long as its for the cheapest price for the best quality of work and that you dont care if they have a green card or work visa, you directly imply that you dont care about hiring illegals.
And if that is true, you are anything but American"pie".

Liberal, its not an excuse, its the reality and facts of living in Collier County and like the rest of your fellow liberal's, you dont know reality and fact even when it stares you in the face...
Like i said earlier-if they're so worried about underage drinking, give teens something else to do besides going to the beach (or fishing) and drinking and doing drugs, b/c that's all kids in this county have to do w/their free time.

This is what Collier gets when you have NOTHING for teens to do, so what could they expect? As far as the store owners go, this is about $$$, and in some cases the managers of these stores are probably sympathetic to the fact that teens have nothing to do in the county and think nothing of selling a 6 pack of beer to them. That doesn't make it right for them to sell to minor's but you see the circle of ignorance perpetuated by giving teens nothing to do in their spare time.
If they really cared about teens drinking in Collier then they would give them something else to do!

mplusive...Fair point. The article starts off w/ "Take 20 children, 5 mothers"...Thanks to my govt funded education that comes out to 4 kids a mom. Hmm, interesting...

i won't say that i agree w/what Cwood said, but it didn't get past me that everyone interviewed in this article had a last name of hispanic origins. i don't know about the rest of you, but i certainly haven't forgotten that the illegal invasion of this country (coming primarily from Mexico) is one of the 4 main reasons that we are in the economical mess we are in right now and some feel good story featuring a bunch of hispanic mothers w/more kids than they should rightfully afford finding ways to 'entertain on a budget' does nothing to help me forget the damage that many of this ethnic group have ravaged on the American culture and economy in the last decade.

In a word, wow! i'm w/bussy and sdw...If you knew this guy you would know this was a one-time BIG eff-up by Cornacchia. At least that is the impression i had of this whole mess and i saw dave after every home game (and then some) last season. The minute he got home after this happened he stopped drinking and tried make up for it any way he could think of. Did he deserve a year? i dunno, i've never seen the tape. It does seem a bit harsh seeing as how no one was hurt...As for the brawls-he has had some classics!

This one was a yawner...i live off Collier just south of Immokalee. The eye when right up Collier i heard, that would explain why the wind woke me up at 5am...No damage here except for a couple of trees down and some road flooding due to clogged sewers. Other than that, everything is good-we have power, cable and internet (obviously).
