Why did this turn into a discussion about cats? In Estero and there are coyotes attacking people walking dogs that are on leashes!!! Come on - pay attention to the actual story. It's about coyote attacks in neighborhoods and populated areas. Even ranchers don't allow coyote attacks on non-domestic animals. No one cares who like cats and who doesn't.

I'm sorry about the cat, but do you have any idea how many cats are loose in East Naples? We have claw marks on our cars from them jumping up on them! If she really cared about her cat she should have kept him inside. If anyone wants a cat, come down to East Naples - there are thousands!

What an idiot. She says we have to 'trap' the coyotes...HOW ABOUT THIS: Don't keep your family pet outside. Domesticated animals don't belong outside with the wild predators of SW Florida. This woman should be fined or given community service for allowing her cat to be killed in a way that could have been prevented.Very sad.

I feel bad for the cat. But this is the fault of the irresponsible pet owner. People like this should receive stiff fines for this behavior. Perhaps then they will learn not let their pets outside alone where there are wild animals.

How many cameras does this lady have?!! I don't think our local elementary schools have that kind of surveillance.
Either way, I'm sorry to hear about this story. I have a cat and would hate for anything to happen to him.
